Studio
From a small town, a studio of houses.
What started as a one-person company has grown into multiple product areas. The workshop got more benches. The lamp did not get brighter by hiring a floor of people.
SmallTownDev is run from Vidisha, a small town in the centre of India, by founder Krishna Kant Chourasiya. It began as a YouTube channel. As the work shifted from explaining WordPress to making tools, the same name became a home for software we actually wanted to exist.
Krishna is a self-taught developer and designer who has been on the web since 2012. The early ethic still holds: niche tools, quality over quantity, and no appetite for becoming a huge company with money-hungry goals. That ethic was once written as a “company of one.” The shape has changed. The studio now holds several focused houses — WooCommerce plugins, Elementor design tools, Automatic.css infrastructure, an open-source plugin boilerplate, and a new agency for agentic WordPress.
Some of those houses are Krishna’s to steer. Some are built with co-founders. AnalogWP, SchemaWP, and 21Press are products with John Fraskos. JetixWP and VajraWP remain the studio’s own benches. We are still here to build for people — just with more than one door on the street.

Make it for humans
Clutter-free admin, honest copy, software that does one job well. If it needs a parade of dashboard notices, it is not ours.
A sharp niche over a bloated suite
Pick a job. Do that job well. A tool that tries to be everything usually ends up being nothing you can trust — so we keep the scope tight and ship something that earns its keep.
Stay small enough to care
Growth here means more product areas, not a company that cannot answer support. The origin story is a small town. That is still the point.
A short timeline
How the workshop filled in.
- 2012 Krishna starts on the web — a blog, teaching WordPress, then PHP and HTML-to-theme work.
- Codestag → AnalogWP Building beautiful themes at Codestag, then AnalogWP. Style Kits for Elementor, originally a three-person team later turned into a two-person team.
- 2023 SmallTownDev becomes a public home for tools. VajraWP ships as a modern plugin boilerplate. Tutorials live on YouTube and GitHub.
- JetixWP A WooCommerce plugin house: Really Simple Featured Video, audio, images, shipping. Clutter-free shop tools.
- 2025 SchemaWP with John — agents for Automatic.css.
- 2026 21Press with John — the studio’s agency for agentic WordPress, with Delta at the centre.
